Where did Daisy Green come from?

How did all of this start?

Well, in short it started as a recurring daydream of a unicorn rider-dreamer-head in the clouds-muggle-young woman that believes we all have magic inside us.  Me.

I’ve wanted to own my own business for as long as I can remember. Not for conventional reasons such as being my own boss, but for something much deeper.  I’ve always wanted to help people, and I figured that if I had my own business, I can help by giving jobs and a little bit of dignity to my fellow South Africans.

As a little girl the dream of owning a business ranged from wedding planner, to superhero instructor, to opening a school for magic, to personal cheerleader and motivator.  (As you can see, even as a child I didn’t hold back when it came to bold and daring dreams)

I have always had a deeper connection to the earth, nature, animals, humans and the environment as a whole.  I was that child who wanted to help and save everyone, whether it was a sick animal, a dead bird, a stray dog or a human begging on the corner.  It didn’t matter who or what you were, I was going to help you by making this world a better place!

Then I grew up and my childlike nature and beliefs didn’t sit so well with the grown-up world.  Slowly I lost my inner child and my belief in magic. For quite some time life became very hard, dark and dull.  You see I started to believe that it was what it takes to be an adult, a “grown up”.  I started following instructions instead of being the leader that I am.  I became so focused on others and their happiness, their norms, their wants and needs and their dreams that I completely forgot to live my own life, my own truth, my own purpose.

Other people’s happiness made me happy, or so I thought, until I realized that in order for me to find true happiness and meaning in life I had to be truly, completely, abundantly happy with myself and in my soul.  I eventually figured out how to get there- I had to stop relying on other people and external factors for my own happiness.  I changed my focus, I changed my direction and I took my life back.  I took my life back, I found my sparkle and I started riding wild unicorns and hippogriffs again.  I made friends with fairies and centaurs, who decided to give me a new name:

They called me Daisy Green.

They said my name will be Daisy because a daisy flower represents love, innocence, joy, happiness, new beginnings and unblemished youth.

They said my surname will be Green as it symbolizes nature, and my love for it, abundance, renewal, growth and prosperity.  And it represents tranquility, health, the ability to express unconditional love, forgiveness and compassion.

And that, my lovelies, is how Daisy Green was born.

We make our products by hand, in small or individual batches.  This way we ensure that you get all the goodness in your bottle or jar.

We keep the environment in mind with every single thing we do at Daisy Green- from sourcing ingredients, to the making of the products, to packaging, to shipping!

Free from harmful crap

We don’t sell crap.  We sell products that are superior in quality, therefore, we don’t add any harmful crap to our products.  These include chemicals, artificial preservatives, other artificial crap, SLS, SLES and microplastics.

As stated above, our products are free from harmful crap.  We don’t buy synthetic ingredients, only natural products and ingredients that are packed with the goodness of Mother Nature.

Lekker Local

We source all of our products from South African suppliers.  We strongly believe in community and uplifting our society.

*Only the resin (for the beeswax wraps) were imported as we were unable to locate a local supplier.

What is our Vision for the Future?

In the next five years we want to:

  • Run our own skills development centre and teach skills to individuals in need

  • Have the people who we teach become the teachers

  • Employ as many women as possible

  • Spread kindness around- far and wide- like compostable, eco-friendly confetti

  • Have a platform to create and spread eco consciousness on a large scale

  • Develop more naturally good products, that Mother Nature will approve of

We want to teach, inspire, motivate and coach individuals and businesses to live and do business eco consciously

Most importantly, we want to spread love, kindness, passion and compassion every single day.
